Burton brings news
of RIZEENA. TEAM (Clive) BRITTAIN
Clive says :
"The 2000
might look ‘very tempting’
for RIZEENA – BRITTAIN
"CLIVE
BRITTAIN says he won’t be afraid to take on the colts with star filly Rizeena
is a general 10-1 chance.
“The
veteran trainer proved he can still spring a surprise yesterday his Moyglare
Stud Stakes winner has been entered in both the Newmarket Classics. She is the
only filly among 73 entered for the
2,000 Guineas
on May 3rd , for which she is 25-1 with Betfred and William Hill.
“The
fillies’ market is pretty strong and the fillies certain looked as good, if not
better than the colts in general and it gives me the choice, “ said Brittain .
“It
gives you an open deck. The aim is obviously to win the 1,000 Guineas but, if it was possible to win the
2,000, or the 1,000 looked a tougher race, then with a 3lb allowance, it might
be very tempting to go for the 2,000 Guineas . “
“Rizeena
has already proved her ability in mixed company when coming home a
strong-finishing third to No Nay Never and fellow 1,000 Guineas
possible Vorda, having been slowly away,
in the Prix Morny last August.
“Brittain
believes the daughter of Iffraaj has done well over the close season and will
not take too much getting ready. She would only be two or three serious bits of
work away from fitness and she didn’t turn a hair when she did a seven -furlong
spin yesterday, “ says Britain “I couldn’t be more pleased. “
“Radiator and Along Again have been entered for the
1,000 Guineas
by Sir Michael , who said yesterday : “I’m hoping to train them both in trials
in the spring, then make a decision.
“Radiator
was disappointing in her last run in the Oh So Sharp. We were not happy when
she came back after the race and it is a dangerous time of year for fillies,
and she may have picked up something. She was beaten a long way from home and
was never travelling in the race in the way she was before. We have always
liked her and hope to have her back, in the right direction.
“He
added: “ Along Again progressed nicely with racing last year and found six
furlongs too short in the Princess Margaret. If I had run her again she’d have
gone over further and she had to have a (bone chip) taken out of one of her
fetlocks.
“She’s
progressive and does nothing at home and she saves it all for the course. I
love horses like that. . We’ll know what to do with her as the spring
progresses. “
